The hunt for the hat 🧭

Industry expert and phygital fashion pioneer gmoney has been teasing the next drop from his 9dcc fashion label for weeks, and this week, he offered a little more information about it. The third item from 9dcc will be a baseball cap, and if you want one, you’re going to need to get ready to hunt for it.

ITERATION-03 caps will come in four colors, and will be available to holders of Admit One passes starting today. Supply is limited to 1,600, and if you’re not an Admit One holder, the only other way to get one (for now, at least) is to participate in gmoney and 9dcc’s NYC treasure hunt that kicks off on April 12, during NFT.NYC.

Each cap includes a tag that allows people to interact with it by touching their smartphones to it. The full extent of functionality that’ll unlock is still to be revealed, but we expect it’ll play a key role in the leaderboard mechanism that’ll decide the eventual winner of the treasure hunt’s biggest prize: the chance to mint a Chromie Squiggle.

You can also be sure the “Networked Product” chip in the cap will allow for POAP (Proof of Attendance Protocol) collection — and personalized POAPs — like the chips in ITERATION-01 and 02 garments do.

We expect demand for the caps will far outstrip supply, and that they’ll be turning up on the secondary market in no time. But if history has taught us anything, it’s that gmoney doesn’t miss, and he’s got a bit of the Midas touch, so if you do get a chance to lay hands on something he’s put his name to, you may want to diamond hand it.

In our recent interview with gmoney he outlined a detailed roadmap for 9dcc, and explained how he sees it as a social network powered by brand loyalty rather than financial incentives.

The proof his vision is coming to life is evident in the way community members are already rocking their IT-01 and IT-02 items to NFT events. IT-03 looks set to expand the range of products available to community members and exponentially increase the decentralized social network 9dcc is building.

• In the third episode of its live-streamed chaos, PleasrDAO sold Unisocks NFT #69 for 22 ETH (~$39,000) and saw 1,370 of its own Uniblocks NFTs minted:
